Hi All, here is a video taken earlier this year of Boulder. This is my First Video made on imovie from my MBP. Amazing Black Lab
This is Boulder running the double T. He is quite flawless and what an incredible attitude. Boulder sits to the whistle very fast and takes great hand signals “Casts”.
If we could all be so luck to own a dog with this enthusiasm with this attitude and willingness to please.
Boulder now retrieves Ducks in California. No more snow ever again
Hi All, What a wonderful weekend we had at the Lee Kay Dog Training Grounds for the Wasatch Hunting Retriever Club’s Second Annual Derby and Qualifying Tests and Hunt Tests.
I ran Whitie in the Derby on Friday and won 4th Place. It was a cold windy day with some stiff competition. I was very happy with Whitie and his performance. He made a lot of good choices and handled his first Field Trial very well.
The next morning we woke to SNOW! The dogs were Amped up and the Grounds were quite muddy by mid day. I ran Buddy in the Senior Hunt Test and he performed very well and Passed with flying colors. Jen ran Lilly in the Junior. This was a first for both her and the dog. They were a perfect Team and Passed the Test like old Pro’s
The following day was beautiful and sunny but the wind kept us in Jackets. Buddy and I ran the Senior again and he made it look easy both series. I was proud to announce as we were awarded our Ribbon “Title”! Now it’s time to get ready for the big step up to “Master”. Congrats to “Gypsy Oak’s Best Friend SH” and his Owner “Jack R.”
Jen and Lilly weren’t so fortunate and had to pick up after Lilly started chasing shore birds around the pond. Better luck next time.
All in all we came home with 4 Ribbons and had a great time chatting with old friends and making new one’s.
Thanks for reading and feel free to ask some training questions and to forward this blog onto your Friends.
Hi All, this is really my first Blog … EVER! And, this is my first official post. There is always plenty to talk about when the subject of Retrievers comes up and that’s just what we are going to be talking about each week here on the G.O. Retrievers Blog.
Here’s a little update about me. For those of you who don’t know, my name is Lindsay Robinson. I have owned “Gypsy Oak Retrievers” since 2004. Before that I was Robinson Retrievers. Sometime in the future I will write my story about the Before and After but not today.
This weekend is the Wasatch Hunting Retriever Club’s second annual Derby/Qual… followed by a Double Junior, Double Senior and Single Master. My Hope is that some of you reading will be running and discussions will follow next week.
Here’s who I have running. Whitie in the Derby on Friday. Buddy in the Senior on both Sat. and Sun. and “Jen” is running our dog Lilly in the Junior both Sat. and Sun.
This should be a fun weekend and the Fruit of our Labor should be in the form of “Beautiful Ribbons”
So, check back next week. I’ll let you know how it went and we can start discussing issues like “Dog Training” etc…
Take care and let’s talk Later… lr
